Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story

So How Good Was That Movie? ★★★★★★★★☆☆

The movie moves you to the edge of breakdown while putting a smile on your face. That is great entertainment.

DreamWorks SKG has shown us in the past its ability to put on the big screen movies that not only entertain, but also touch the heart of the viewers.

Kurt Russell who apparently dropped his coat of raging bull actor, and seems to be sinking himself into family-oriented personages, plays here a horse trainer with a heavy past trying to get by working for other firms. Destiny comes knocking on his door when he saves an injured horse from death, losing his job in the process. The delivered
animal will bring to him and his family the last ingredient towards their happiness.

Dakota Fanning, whom I think is one of the most talented modern actresses (or she just has the best agent in the industry) acts here as Kurt Russell’s daughter “Cale” and plays a crucial part in the destiny of the horse, and of the entire stable. The journey will take them through ups and downs, which will end at The Breeder’s Cup. A movie for all ages, Dreamer is another opportunity for John Gatins to show us how talented he is. He was the screenwriter for Coach Carter (2005). He was involved in Hardball (2001) as an actor and a screenwriter.

But this is his first movie as a director and he did a tremendous job.  Dreamer opened at number 2 at the Box Office grossing a little over 9,300,000.
